For months I have been building something quieter than anything else I make. It is called The Midnight Alchemist, and it is now in early access on Android through Google Play internal testing. It works, and it is not finished — which is exactly why I want you in it now.
Here is what it does. When you open it, it runs a short audit — it asks, in plain words, what change you are actually going through, and builds around your answer. During setup you record your own voice. Then, every day, it writes you short reflections for morning, midday and night — personal to your situation — and speaks them back in your own voice, warm and unhurried. It names where you are (this week, mine called me a Steady Rebuilder), and a Journal and Archive hold what comes up. It is built on Jung and the neuroscience of how identity shifts — the same research my writing draws on — made light enough to use on a normal Tuesday.
Why this, and why me. I have rebuilt myself more than once — across two passports, several countries, and a few endings I did not choose. I learned one plain thing: when you are becoming someone new, the old you is the loudest voice in the room. The instinct behind everything I build is to hand a person the tool to move through a hard passage without losing years to it. This time the passage is inward — and the tool is small enough to carry.
It is the real app, running early. Open the link on an Android phone, accept the invite, and install. Use it for a few mornings, then tell me where it breaks, where it rings false, where a stranger would quietly give up.
On iPhone, or not ready to install today? Join the waitlist at themidnightalchemist.com and I will bring you in next.
It is early, and it will show. That is the point of a test — I would rather you find the seam than someone in the middle of their own hard year does. Two passports taught me to build the door before you need it. This is me handing you the key while the paint is still wet.
The Midnight Alchemist is an early-access tool for reflection and journaling — it is not therapy, counselling, or medical advice, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you are in crisis, contact a local professional or emergency service. The Android internal test is delivered via Google Play. Operated by 3Men Pty Ltd (Australia · ABN 83 678 873 839).
